Dr. Corey P. Gallagher

Corey P. Gallagher, owner of Northwoods Veterinary Clinic, LLC, says his passion for veterinary science began when he started raising and breeding English Springer Spaniels and training them for field trials. His love for performance dogs is what drove him to become a veterinarian and is what continues to drive him to help owners, trainers and their athletes perform at the highest level.

A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dr. Gallagher attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities for his undergraduate studies, earning a BS in Chemistry in 1997. After college he worked as a research and development chemist for a pharmaceutical company. Then in 2006, he entered Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine graduating Cum Laude four years later with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Gallagher's areas of particular professional interest include small animal medicine and surgery, including orthopedic surgery.  He has also taken part in short-term Christian veterinary missions to Nicaragua as a member of Christian Veterinary Mission.  Professional organizations include American Veterinary Medical Association, Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Gallagher is married to Kaethe Gallagher and has two children: Liam and Norah. At home, the family has two English Springer Spaniels named Jack and Orla that Dr. Gallagher enjoys hunting with and participating in field trials. He also enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and being in the great outdoors.  He is excited to be back in Wisconsin near family and being the owner of his own practice.

Dr. Kate Carlson was one of those kids who always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, and simply never let go of that dream. Dr. Kate started working for Northwoods in 2006. Her undergraduate and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degrees were completed at the University of Minnesota. She currently lives on a farm near Abrams with her husband Mike, dogs, cats, and sheep.

Dr. Kate believes in the power of preventative care, including healthy human-animal relationships, nourishing and stimulating environments, appropriate diet, and exercise. She enjoys challenging medical problems, when it often takes going the extra mile to achieve success, and is a strong advocate of patient welfare. She is thrilled to have achieved full certification in veterinary spinal manipulative therapy, which yields benefits to our pets, similar to how chiropractic benefits humans.

Professional organizations include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA), the College of Animal Chiropractors (COAC), and the Veterinary Information Network (YIN).

My compassion for animal welfare goes back as far as I remember.  It has been a joy working in a field where I can put that passion to work.

I first came to Northwoods 18 years ago.  The level of skill, compassion, and commitment kept me coming back.  Today, I am thrilled to be a part of the team as a Veterinary Assistant.

I was born and raised in Oconto County.  I live with my husband , and our 4 dogs and 4 cats.  I spend my free time with my family.  In the summer I am very active in the garden, fishing, and playing with my dogs.  In the winter I am cooking in the kitchen trying to stay warm!  I also like reading, camping, live music, road trips, and sitting around the fire.

I have been a veterinary assistant sine 2003. It is only natural that I find myself in this field. I have been caring for animals ever since I can remember. I especially enjoyed the 3 years I spent working in an emergency hospital. It is so rewarding to be able to help animals, and their owners, when they are most in need. I have had the privilege of working with a variety of animals- including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, pocket pets, and even some wildlife. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had and the skills I have acquired over the years. I am always working toward learning something new! My goal is to become a licensed technician in the near future. My husband and I have three children and share our home with our three dogs: Layla, Tilly, and Tinklebelle, our cat Kenya and Drako the bearded dragon.

I have been working at Northwoods Veterinary Clinic as a receptionist since 2005 and have loved every minute of it. The family-like environment of the clinic along with the compassionate care provided to clients and their pets makes my job very rewarding. I attended NWTC and earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology_ Aside from work, I enjoy "girl days" with my daughters Kaitie and Liza, reading, lawn care and gardening with my husband, Lynn (provided the deer don't get it first) and rummaging/antiquing. Our family wouldn't be complete without our two "four-legged kids", cats Pearl and Ming.

I have been a part of the Northwoods Vet family since April of 2007 due to my love and adoration of animals. There is nothing like the love and devotion of a pet. It brings me so much joy to see owners and their pets interact, and to see the love and respect they share. And it gives me so much pride to have a hand in the great care we give our patients. Our clients put alot of trust in us to take care of a very important part of their family, and we all take that very seriously here at Northwoods Veterinary Clinic.

My husband, Zack, and I have 2 children, Jazmyn and Dalton. Originally from North Carolina, I now live in Suring and share our farm with 4 dogs (Cheyenne- chocolate lab, Sarge - black lab mix, Rocky - silver Weimeraner, Gizmo - Cocker Spaniel mix), 3 cats (Izzy, Roadster, Tink), horses, cows, pigs, and lambs. My family enjoys the outdoors, especially a day at the park with all the dogs. Our pets and farm animals bring me almost as much joy as my children do. The one thing I miss most about the South is Sweet Tea! But that's such a small price to pay to live in such a wonderful place!

Rickie has been taking care of Northwoods since 2004. She works tirelessly to make sure our facility is always clean and odor-free for your visit.  She makes it easier for us to enjoy our day caring for you.  Rickie says, “I truly enjoy coming to work because I work with some of the most compassionate and caring people!  Each day is different and I never know what each day will bring, it’s never boring.“

She shares her life with her 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.  She loves her pets: 2 Pomeranians, Eddie and Timber, 4 cats, George, Kyara, Cleo and Tigger, 2 cockatiels and Squeaks the parrot!
